Although making hard-boiled eggs should be simple, they are usually overcooked or underdone. If you want perfect results every time, place your eggs in a saucepan and fill them with cold water. Once the water reaches a boiling point, cover the pan and turn off the heat.
Allow the eggs to sit for nine to twelve minutes, depending on their size. To stop the heating process and make peeling easier, put them in an ice bath as soon as you can.
