Soufflés are often seen as complicated, but they can be simplified. Separate the yolks and whites of three eggs. Whisk the yolks with a bit of milk and seasonings, then beat the whites until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whites into the yolk mixture, transfer to a ramekin that has been buttered, and bake for 15 to 20 minutes at 375°F (190°C). And voilà, a simple and quick soufflé!
When baking or cooking eggs, it's crucial to ensure they're fully cooked to avoid any risk of foodborne illness. Undercooked eggs can harbor harmful bacteria like Salmonella, posing a serious health risk. For baked dishes such as quiches, frittatas, or casseroles, it's best to use a food thermometer. Insert it into the center of the dish and make sure the internal temperature reaches at least 160°F (71°C).
